The calculator

Everything the calculator works out is worked out in your browser. What you type into it is never sent anywhere and never saved, not even in your browser. The site is a reference tool for health professionals, not advice about any individual.

Advertising

The site shows ads from Google AdSense. The ads are non-personalised: they are chosen from the content of the page, not from anything known about you. Google still uses cookies or similar storage on your device for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregate reporting, and it receives your IP address when your browser requests an ad. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, referring sites and visitors' countries. It uses no cookies and doesn't track you across other sites.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes your IP address and details of each request, such as the page asked for and your browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Storage on your device

The site itself stores one item in your browser's localStorage: a note that you dismissed the privacy notice, so it isn't shown again. It is not a cookie and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

What we don't do

There are no accounts, forms or sign-ups, and no personalised ads. We don't sell or share personal information.

Overseas

Google and Cloudflare may process data outside Australia and New Zealand, including in the United States. This is disclosed under Australian Privacy Principle 8 and New Zealand Information Privacy Principle 12.

Your rights

We don't hold any personal information about you. If you have a question about privacy, email [contact email]. If you want to make a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (Australia) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand).

Changes

The date at the top of this page shows when the policy last changed. When something material changes, such as a new third party, new data being collected or a move to personalised ads, we show the privacy notice again to every visitor.
